Brick Quoins - Brick quoins are use to decorate the corners of buildings. They are laid in alternating courses-one row header, one row stretcher.
They are used to bond corners or to provide toothing for the wall. Quoin blocks can be purchased ready made in an L shape. In the picture below 3 rows of bricks have been used to create the alternating L shape.
Brick quoins can be created from using bricks or blocks-they will be either a different colour or material to the rest of the wall i.e. brick quoins may be used on a rendered wall.
